The Light and the Life…He is WITH us!
The Light of the world has entered in. How is that Light shining in and through you this week? How about for the upcoming year? Check out Johnny’s encouragement originally published 2013!
John 1:4-5, “In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men and The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it”.
Though “Wise Men” sought Him, how about you and me? In our pursuit do we shine His light of redemption in this world of chaos and destruction? His Light in our life makes the difference in our day to day struggles and victories. The Immanuel (God with us) Principle can be our – “with-God life” as seen from Genesis to Revelation…God walking with mankind in a garden all the way to His return for His followers to dwell with Him forever.
We as a culture have been pushing God out of our country, schools, businesses, homes and have even taken Him right out of our lives for years. Often it’s when tragedy strikes that there are quick prayers, hard questions and a quick fix to try to find light in the midst of darkness. In our pushing God away we have found Him to be a gentleman who obliges our choices. The human condition is a sin condition that is dark and leads to death. The gravest evil resides in the heart of man, but… there is a remedy. There is a Rescuer who can save us from the consequences of our sins.
Light exposes darkness and reveals people’s character/standards. John 3:19-21suggests that “light” will shine on our hope that provides a difference as we live out “Let your light shine before men” (Matthew 5:14-16). Let our “light” shine before family and neighbors personally as we do “life-on-life.” This can include talking and praying for/with them, walking with them, sitting with them, humbly serving and discipling them.
May we live out the “with-God life” by soaking up and navigating through His Word. All the while knowing the Holy Spirit will teach us, comfort us and bring to remembrance the Light of God’s Word.

“Immanuel”… advantage us – we know the Light because the light is IN us as Christ followers! MAC’s and WOG’s you are a light to shine in your world of influence (Matthew 5:14-16). “Shine On” because you have Immanuel. One day there will be no need of light because God will illuminate everything. Check out Rev 22:5. There is only one way for our world’s brokenness to be restored, and it is from its Creator. So be His light and life by shining His Truth.
