Stop worrying about screen-time and schedules, and start creating memories because nurturing relationships, and having fun is what summer family camp is all about.

“Our family spends way too much quality time together. I wish we were busier.”
– said no parent ever

Spend your four-night, five-day vacation reflecting, reconnecting, and renewing your relationships with each other and with God.

Have you ever taken a vacation where your expectations didn’t match the reality: You wanted relaxation and fun but got traffic, crowds, schedules, and stress? We’ve been there!

Family Camp is a vacation you don’t have to recover from.

No cooking. No cleaning. No planning. You show up and we do the rest. Our staff takes care of your family, our college coaches help plan your activities while your campers build community and develop friendships.

Summer family camp offers activities for all ages, and your experience can be as busy or as relaxed as you like. Swim in one of our pools, tackle the high ropes course, get crafty, play games, or take naps.

At the end of each day, your family has the opportunity to worship together and grow in the Lord.

Stay tuned for our 2024 Family Camp Session 1 Speaker.

2024 Session 2: John Elmore

John is currently serving as the Teaching Pastor at Watermark Community Church in Dallas, Texas. In 2011, John married Laura. They have three kiddos: Hill (10) Penny (8), Judd (6).

The Elmores love life together and the out of the ordinary – road trips, vacations, really any experiences together as a family…and thus T Bar M is GOLD to them in this regard.

John says: “We could not give T Bar M a higher endorsement – it’s the perfect combination of fun, faith, and family. You and your kids will play, laugh, pray, make memories, have intentional times, stretch yourself and leave closer to each other and God, filled-up on love and purpose, with a renewed vision for living a life of faith. Choose one week of your summer while your kids are still kids – for you and your family to be eternally impacted.”

2024 Session 3: Adam Griffin

Adam Griffin is the Lead Pastor of Eastside Community Church in Dallas, Texas. He is the host of the Family Discipleship Podcast and the author of several books and resources for families. He is married to Chelsea and they have three sons – Oscar, Gus, and Theodore.

At the time of next summer, their sons will be 12, 10, and 8. Chelsea and Adam have been married for 13 years. Their family loves to watch sports together and root for the Aggies and Packers.

Fun fact: We are part owners of the Green Bay Packers.

Adam says: “What I love most about T Bar M is the connection we get to make with our kids and with other families who are delighted to follow Jesus. I’d recommend it to anyone who wants to make memories with their kids and leave a week of time together encouraged and blessed.”

2024 Session 4: Ken Hicks

Ken currently serves as Lead Pastor at Heights Community Church and also owns a Residential Remodeling Company in San Antonio. Ken & Rita have been married for 28 years, with 3 adult daughters and 2 granddaughters.

Ken loves golf, cooking on the Big Green Egg, and all things Baylor Bears!

Ken says: “T Bar M Family Camp is such a powerful experience in the life of our family, not only do we bring our church each summer, but we love it so much we come TWICE! Establishing this tradition with our grand-children is incredible, and we wouldn’t miss a single summer. We schedule everything around Family Camp!”

2024 Session 5: Michael Atmar

Michael Atmar serves as the Pastor of Family & Care at Seven Mile Road Houston. He is the proud husband of his wife, Erin, and father of his three sons, Case, Declan, and Tate, and his daughter, Ellis. Michael is passionate about discipleship, training leaders, and equipping God’s people to use their gifts for the work of ministry.

Michael attended the University of Texas at Austin and graduated with a degree in Finance. He also graduated from Dallas Theological Seminary with his master’s degree in Christian Leadership. In his free time, he enjoys playing basketball, running with Erin, eating Tex-Mex and Barbecue, and making new friends.

2024 Session 11: Robert (Chief) Parrish

Chief a.k.a. Robert is currently serving as the Family Pastor at Oakwood Church in New Braunfels, Texas. Chief married his wife Kristen in 2005. Both Chief and Kristen have served as T Bar M summer coaches and leadership at Camp Travis, and Chief also served as men’s director at Camp Travis and as Senior Director of Camps. They have four kids: Hallie (14), Macey Jo (12), Benjamin (10), and Samuel (8) and a very fast and springy dog named Willa.

Chief and Kristen started dating at Camp Travis and three of their four kids spent their earliest childhood summers growing as camp kids living at Camp Travis. T Bar M is deeply rooted in their story and their hearts, and they are always looking for an opportunity to be back behind these gates.

Chief says: “T Bar M is one of those thin places where heaven meets earth, and you can experience a foretaste of what is to come. The people love you like family and spur you on in your pursuit of knowing and following Jesus better than anywhere we know.”

Testimonials

see what everyone has to say

Did you know 86% of our campers come because someone they know recommended T Bar M.

So don’t take our word for it. See what moms and dads have to say about their experience with T Bar M.

  • When I think of T Bar M, I think of family and unity. The things that T Bar M provides, they bond our family. I tell my husband that all the activities and all that stuff is amazing … but the icing on top is the firm foundation of all of us together digging in God’s word. All that we learn and practice at Family Camp goes home with us. That’s what we value and that’s why I will continue to send them to camp.

  • My kids can’t stop talking about camp. The blob. The coaches. The river. Mister Universe. The dang stuffed animals they got at the camp store. Ha ha. And Chris and I can’t stop talking about camp either. The conversations we had. What a ball we had as a family. How much we love that place and the people!

    Rachel Shelton

    Dallas, TX

  • It sounds crazy to say we bonded as a family. I mean being that I’ve shared a bed with my husband for 12 years and carried the 2 children in my body for 9 months. But it is true. And we came home more aware of what kindness and serving looks like. And most importantly, with a burden lifted that nothing we can measure on earth matters. For kids about to start school with 2 parents with jobs that are heavily influenced by what happens this November, it was a good reminder to set our priorities straight.
