We are a people who keep score. Our lives are riddled with scorekeeping. We keep score at school with grades or class ranking. We keep score at work with titles. We keep score while competing (that’s how we know who wins). We keep score with our siblings with accomplishments. We keep score with our neighbors with manicured lawns or cars in the driveway. Whether we realize it or not, we keep score from an early age of life.
